Background checks are required for any volunteer working with children and families. Once we have processed your application, you will receive an email from “HireRight” to begin the background check process.


Classroom Teams

Help children in our classrooms (ages 2-5) learn and grow. Playfulness & patience is key! 

Location: Newberg, McMinnville & Willamina

Available shifts: Monday – Friday mornings, 4 -5 hours per day, 1 – 5 days per week (depending on your preference)

Event Team

Raise awareness & support by helping plan, promote, & solicit support for our fundraising & promotional events.  

Location: Various locations & online

Available shifts: As needed

Diaper Drive Captain

Work closely with AFP staff to coordinate, promote, & host Diaper Drives in your community! 

Location: Online & in your community

Available shifts: Flexible & always needed 


Diaper Bank Support Team

  • Collect, process, wash, & sort clothing donations.
  • Organize donation & inventory (at clothing closet locations in Newberg, McMinnville & Willamina). 

Location: Countywide

Available shifts: Flexible & as needed

Community Ambassador

Help others learn about how our programs stabilize families with young children. Host a socially-distanced tour, a presentation, or a table at our annual event.

Location: Various/online

Available shifts: At your convenience

Provide Childcare

Provide childcare during parent education classes, and other enrichment events! We have a wide variety of daytime and evening options.

Location: Various

Available shifts: Flexible & As Needed

Translation Support Team

Help with episodic Spanish translation for outreach materials & educational supplements. 

Location: Online 

Available shifts: Flexible & as needed

Videography Team

Help A Family Place tell our success stories & support staff training by creating & editing short, impactful videos.
